What is it?

It is a supplementary illness allowance granted to members in service of the Teachers and School Managers Assistance Scheme who, due to absences from service for illness, incur: 

  • in the 50% pay reduction;
  • in the suspension of the same. 

Absences from service due to illness must have occurred no more than 12 months before the date of claim. 

Who is it aimed at?

For members of the Teachers and School Managers Assistance Scheme while employed.

How does it work?

The Supplementary Illness Allowance is granted to a different extent in the following cases:

  • reduction in remuneration;
  • suspension of remuneration;
  • ISEE (Equivalent economic situation indicator) value of the household.

In the case of a 50% pay reduction, the percentage is:

  • 40% of gross salary for ISEE value up to EUR 24,000;
  • 30% of gross salary for ISEE value higher than EUR 24,000;

In the case of suspension of pay, the percentage is:

  • 80% of the gross salary, for ISEE value of the household up to 24,000 euro;
  • 60% of gross salary for ISEE value higher than EUR 24,000;

Claim

HOW CAN I CLAIM?

The completed form can be sent:

  • via Certified e-mail to dc.creditowelfareestrutturesociali@postacert.inps.gov.it;
  • by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt, to the INPS office - Central Directorate for Welfare Credit and Social Structures - Viale Aldo Ballarin 42, 00142 Rome.

The following documents must be attached to the claim:

  • a copy of the decree issued by the competent school authority suspending or reducing remuneration by 50%;
  • copies of payment slips showing the reduction or suspension;
  • a copy of a payment slip before the reduction or suspension occurred.

Processing times

The ordinary deadline for issuing the measures is set at 30 days under Law no. 241/1990. In some cases the law may set different deadlines.

In addition to the terms for the issuance of the decision, the table also indicates the relevant manager.
