What is it?
Admission to the "Giovanni Bettolo" nursing home for seafarers in Camogli (GE) ensures the guest:
- use of a single assigned room, fully furnished, with bathroom facilities on the same floor;
- catering service;
- use of bed linen and towels;
- laundry service and ironing of personal linen only, according to the procedures established by the facility’s management;
- use of the facility’s premises, common areas and equipment;
- use of common premises, if available, for various services at the direct expense of the residents;
- social assistance, food, nursing and medical care.
Medical care is provided at certain times of the day or on certain days of the week, without prejudice to general and specialist medical services paid for by the National Health Service.
Who is it aimed at?
Admission is reserved for:
- self-sufficient elderly people who, at least during a part of their lives, have sailed;
- surviving spouse; ;
- INPS pensioners or holders of a survivor's pension - category Maritime Pensions or AGO pension settled with contributions for navigation activities.
How does it work?
To be admitted to the facility, you must participate in the tender and meet the economic requirements.
Guests are obliged to accept and respect all the rules laid down in the house rules.
The structure offers indefinite hospitality on payment of a contribution equal to 50% of the monthly pension (excluding the thirteenth month), calculated as a net of:
- Allowance due to the family unit;
- withholding taxes.
Hospitality can be terminated for:
- voluntary resignation;
- because the requirement of self-sufficiency no longer applies.
The resident’s contribution is paid via a deduction on the amount of pension paid by the provincial INPS office in Genova, where resident’s pensions are transferred by local jurisdiction.
Claim
REQUIREMENTS
Before completing the claim, you must register in the database by submitting a registration application (as a 'claimant'), using forms PR190 (if survivor, guardian or heir) or AS150 (if a pensioner).
The form must be submitted to the relevant INPS office:
- by going to the INPS office;
- by sending a scanned copy to the certified e-mail or e-mail address, together with a copy of a valid identity document;
- by sending the form in a registered letter with advice of receipt, attaching a copy of a valid identity document;
- by faxing it together with a copy of a valid identity document.

The deadlines are indicated in the tender.
HOW CAN I CLAIM?
The claim must be submitted to the INPS online by using the dedicated service.
Processing times
The deadline to define the decision was set at 30 days by the Regulation for the definition of the terms to conclude the administrative proceedings adopted by INPS pursuant to Article 2 of Law no. 241/1990.
The table attached to the Regulation shows the deadlines for defining the measures established by the Institute that are longer than the normal 30-day period, and the indication of the relative manager.
