What is it?

This is a financial benefit granted to orphans and treated as such of those enrolled in the Teachers and School Managers Assistance Scheme for attendance at:

  • nurseries;
  • pre-school;
  • primary and secondary school (up to grade two).

Who is it aimed at?

The attendance allowance is due to orphans of the registered beneficiary or spouse of the beneficiary of the Teachers and School Managers Assistance Scheme. .

The following are equivalent to the beneficiary's orphans:

  • children of beneficiaries not legally recognised by the other parent/spouse;
  • children of beneficiaries exempted from the service due to illness which involves absolute and permanent incapacity to perform profitable work;
  • children of separated or divorced beneficiaries, in the event that separation or divorce does not establish any burdens on the other parent.

How does it work?

The amount of the allowance and awarding criteria vary according to the amount of the last ISEE (Equivalent economic situation indicator) statement valid on the date the claim is submitted.

REQUIREMENTS

The requirements are stated in the tender published each year by INPS.

WHEN CAN I CLAIM?

The claim must be submitted:

  • within the terms established by the tender;
  • by the parent who is registered or retired (as pension holder/claimant);
  • by the surviving parent or guardian (as claimant);
  • by the student (as claimant/beneficiary), if over 18 at the date of claim.

HOW CAN I CLAIM?

The claim must be submitted online by clicking on 'Use the service'.

Processing times

The deadline to define the decision was set at 30 days by the Regulation for the definition of the terms to conclude the administrative proceedings adopted by INPS pursuant to Article 2 of Law no. 241/1990.

The table attached to the Regulation shows both the deadlines for defining the decisions established by the Institute that are longer than the normal 30-day period, and the indication of the relative manager.
