What is it?

INPS annually publishes a competition notice for the payment of a financial contribution for the refund of expenses incurred in registering with and attending nurseries.

Who is it aimed at?

The competition notice is aimed at children (including orphans and persons treated as such) of employees of the Poste Italiane SpA Group and ex IPOST employees, subject to a monthly deduction of 0.40% as referred to in Article 3 of Law no. 208 of 27 March 1952, and pensioners who were employees of the Poste Italiane SpA Group and ex IPOST employees.

The following may also apply for participation:

  • the spouse of the beneficiary, in the event of the latter's death, as a “surviving parent”;
  • the spouse of the beneficiary, with the latter being deprived of parental responsibility, as a “claiming parent”;
  • the parent who is not married to the beneficiary, in the event of the latter’s death or in the event that the latter is deprived of parental responsibility;
  • the guardian of the child or of the orphan of the beneficiary.

How does it work?

The contribution amount and the means of payment are indicated in the competition notice.

Claim

REQUIREMENTS

Children or orphans of the beneficiary are admitted to the competition for whom, during the school year indicated in the competition notice, costs relating to registering with attending nurseries were incurred.

When making their claim, the claimants must have submitted their Single Substitute Statement (DSU) for the determination of the regular ISEE (or, in cases provided for by law, of the ISEE for minors with unmarried and non-cohabiting parents).

The ISEE declaration refers to the family unit to which the beneficiary belongs – issued by INPS on the claimant’s submission of the DSU – and is required for determining the classification position.

Failure to submit the DSU before making the claim to participate in the competition will result in the beneficiary being demoted in the relevant ranking.

After the announcement has been published and the claim to participate in the competition has been submitted, each participant in the selection will be able to view the status of the file online within the reserved area.

HOW CAN I CLAIM?

The claim must be made to INPS online by using the dedicated service, digitally, and must include receipts relating to the costs of registering with and attending nurseries in the school year indicated in the relevant competition announcement.

The deadline for making a claim is established by the competition notice.

Processing times

The deadline to define the decision was set at 30 days by the Regulation for the definition of the terms to conclude the administrative proceedings adopted by INPS pursuant to Article 2 of Law no. 241/1990.

The table attached to the Regulation shows both the deadlines for defining the decisions established by the Institute that are longer than the normal 30-day period, and the indication of the relative manager.
