What is it?

INPS, through a special annual competition tender, provides members of the Unified Scheme of Credit and Social Benefits with a free screening service for the prevention and early diagnosis of:

  • skin cancers;
  • tumours of the male genitalia;
  • cancers of the female genitalia.

With another annual competition tender, it also offers a screening service for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
Screenings can be performed at the facilities accredited with the Institute through the accreditation procedure.

Who is it aimed at?

All structures operating in the health field are eligible for the accreditation procedures:

  • medical centres;
  • multi-specialist clinics;
  • analysis laboratories.

These facilities are also allowed in aggregate form as long as they are equipped with instruments and specialised medical personnel for the performance, within the individual facility, of the following services:

  • the three types of services envisaged by the notice of accreditation for screening, for the prevention and early diagnosis of oncological diseases, published on the site;
  • services required by the accreditation notice for the screening of cardiovascular diseases.

The benefits can also be provided through equipped mobile workstations.

How does it work?

The companies concerned may access the service and submit a claim for accreditation, providing the required declarations, if:

  • they meet the requirements stipulated in the notice
    of accreditation;
  • they have registered for the electronic services using
    the methods indicated in the same notice.

Once logged into the service, you can choose whether to be accredited for:

  • oncological screening;
  • cardiological screening;
  • both.

Processing times of the decision

The deadline to define the decision was set at 30 days by the Regulation for the definition of the terms to conclude the administrative proceedings adopted by INPS pursuant to Article 2 of Law no. 241/1990.

The table attached to the Regulation shows both the deadlines for defining the decisions established by the Institute that are longer than the normal 30-day period, and the indication of the relative manager.
